Students may take a grab and go lunch at school, or bring lunch from home.
All school meals are free again this year! However, we still need all families to fill out a School Meals Application even if your child will always bring lunch from home. Also known as the Family Income Inquiry Form, this helps us keep track of data on meals participation at PS 58 and helps NYC get Federal funding for free meals. You can fill out the paper form you received in backpack mail, or you can complete your form online at the SchoolFood website.
At the School Meals page on the Department of Education website, you can find the daily lunch and breakfast menus. PS 58 serves the Pre-K-8 Express HOT Lunch and Breakfast Express menus. You can also sign up for the SchoolFood app, read the Food Allergy Policy, and find the nutritional value of each meal item, including calorie count.
Assorted milk choices are included with school lunch, including low-fat and low-fat chocolate.
Non-meat entree options are available daily.
Breakfast Program
We offer a grab and go breakfast free of charge daily. Students may take a breakfast to go from stations on each floor as they enter their hallway. Students will eat in their classroom during instructional time. There is no early drop off program this year, but we hope to offer one soon,
Volunteering at Lunch and Recess
Due to the limitation on visitors to our building this year, we will not be able to have parent volunteers at lunchtime.
