Once a year your PS 58 PTA has a fundraising campaign.
This is that time. We call it the Direct Appeal. It runs this fall and into early winter. It’s a call for financial support for the programs you and your kids enjoy. The PTA funds local artists and teachers to join our classrooms through programs like Ballet Tales and Chess. It buys the Chromebooks that have been essential for many kids’ remote schooling. It supports grants that teachers use to make teaching better.
How much are we hoping to raise?
Our goal is $170,000.
Where does the money go?
To your children’s education. The PTA is a non-profit that funds a host of school activities. We buy equipment, software, teacher supplies and more. This year we’ll spend about $400,000. The Direct Appeal is the single biggest source of those funds.
How much should I give?
Donations come in all shapes and sizes. The smallest are in the tens of dollars. The biggest are in the thousands. Our ideal donation is about $500. Our goal is that everyone is able to contribute. Please donate what you can. Every contribution matters.
