This committee handles administration for each teacher’s mini-grant requests. The Mini- Grant budget includes funding in three categories General Classroom Materials, Curricular Grants and Professional Development. In years past, teachers have been given a budget between $400 (general education teachers) and $800 (specialty teachers) to put towards necessary materials for their classrooms. Curricular Grants are for grade-wide or school- wide materials (e.g. test prep materials for testing grades). Lastly, there are funds available for required Professional Developments and/or as an option to teachers if they are interested.
PARENT VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS
This team fills needs for volunteers for the PTA and the school. They use Konstella to send calls for volunteers and to create volunteer sign up forms.
5th GRADE REPRESENTATIVE
Fifth grade is the final grade at PS 58 and with it comes many rites of passage throughout the year. Special events such as the overnight trip, yearbook, graduation and dance require additional funds and community building among 5th grade families. The 5th Grade Rep works with 5th grade parents to arrange and fundraise specifically for these exciting happenings.
AUCTION
The annual Auction and Party is a fun event as well as an important source of income for our PTA. There are many ways to support the auction: donate time or treasure, and attend the event!
