Please consider applying for a seat on the Community Education Council. All parents with a child in NYC public schools are eligible to run to be selected. The application period opens today and ends March 6.
The Council is an essential part of NYC Schools. Councils hold public meetings monthly, and are tasked with working with and advising the Superintendent on issues facing our local schools. Our CEC 15 was instrumental in the recent Diversity Plan for middle school admissions in District 15. Councils vote on changes to zoning lines, and school co-locations.

All districts have a Council, and there are also citywide councils for English Language Learners, Special Education, and High Schools.
(Due to conflict of interest rules, PTA Officers must resign their position to run for a council.)
